Technical FAQs & Specifications

How do I maximize my Waydoo eFoil battery lifespan?
We recommend storing the battery at roughly 40-60% charge in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing the battery at 0% or 100% capacity for extended periods, and always wash the battery terminals with fresh water after riding in salt water.
What is the difference between the standard and Plus batteries?
The standard battery is lightweight and offers up to 100 minutes of riding. The Plus battery features extended capacity for up to 120 minutes of flight time and drives the smart GPS features.
Can I charge my Powerflight Battery immediately after a session?
No. The battery cells may be hot post-session. The Powerflight Charger has built-in thermal safety sensors and will automatically restrict charging if the battery temperature exceeds 45°C (113°F) or falls below 10°C (50°F). Allow the battery to cool down to room temperature in a shaded area before plugging it in.
What is the critical Rotary Lock safety protocol?
When installing the battery, always turn the two rotary locks 90° clockwise to secure it. Operating the eFoil without fully locking the battery allows seawater to enter the power plug well. This causes poor electrical contact, galvanic corrosion, and can severely burn both the battery and mast plugs, voiding the warranty.
What is the unique 'Power Station' feature of the Powerflight Inverter Charger?
The Powerflight Inverter Charger features a 2-in-1 design: it can charge your Powerflight battery from standard wall outlets, and it can also reverse-flow power. By connecting a charged battery to the Inverter Charger, you can supply standard AC and DC power to external devices (up to 3000W output), converting your battery into a mobile off-grid power station.
How does the magnetic wrist-strap key safely turn the Powerflight Battery on and off?
The battery utilizes a contactless magnetic switch for safety. To power on/off, swipe or hold the magnetic key on your wrist-strap close to the power button indicator (within 1cm) for 3 seconds. The LED ring will light up sequentially. Keep the magnet close until the progress bar is fully complete to avoid initialization faults.
