Technical FAQs & Specifications
How does the Hydroflyer handlebar system improve the riding experience?
The Hydroflyer's unique, height-adjustable handlebar provides 3 points of contact (feet and hands), vastly increasing stability and control. This design makes it incredibly easy for beginners to learn to fly in minutes, reduces leg fatigue, and allows advanced riders to carve harder with precise steering control.
Is the handlebar system on the Hydroflyer removable?
Yes! The Hydroflyer handlebar features a robust, marine-grade quick-release mounting mechanism. You can easily remove the handlebars for transport or storage, or to convert the Hydroflyer board into a traditional hands-free eFoil for classic stand-up riding.
How does the Hydroflyer safety cutout / kill-switch work?
Safety is a core pillar of the Hydroflyer. It features a magnetic safety lanyard (kill-switch) attached to the handlebar steering assembly and your wrist. If you lose balance and fall off the board, the magnetic key instantly disconnects, shutting off motor power immediately to prevent the eFoil from moving away.
What water depth is needed to safely operate the Hydroflyer?
A minimum depth of 1.5 meters (5 feet) is required. This ensures the carbon mast, propulsion assembly, and front wing do not collide with sandbars, rocks, or shallow reefs, which can cause severe impact damage to the wing composite structure.
How do I assemble the Hydroflyer mast, handlebar, and battery?
Place the board upside down on a soft surface and bolt the mast to the board's mounting plate using the supplied high-tensile stainless steel bolts. Flip the board over, securely lock the handlebar stem into the receiver box, insert the Smart Battery into the watertight cell compartment, and lock the rotary latches.
What is the recommended maintenance routine for the Hydroflyer?
After every saltwater session, rinse the entire board, handlebar joints, battery bay, mast, and motor propeller extensively with clean fresh water. Spray a light coating of electrical contact cleaner on the clean, dry power plugs and apply Tef-Gel to the wing bolts periodically to prevent thread seizing.
