Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of the Waydoo Flyer EVO? +

The Waydoo Flyer EVO Lite starts at $4,899.00. The EVO Pro Plus package starts at $6,499.00, the high-volume EVO Max Plus starts at $6,584.00, and the premium carbon-fiber EVO Master Plus starts at $8,999.00.

How long does the Waydoo Flyer EVO battery last? +

The Waydoo Flyer EVO offers two battery options: the standard 1800Wh battery provides up to 100 minutes of continuous ride time, while the larger 2300Wh battery extends your ride up to 120 minutes (2 hours) on a single charge.

What is the difference between the EVO Lite and EVO Pro Plus? +

The EVO Lite uses a standard 4000W propulsion unit and direct throttle control. The EVO Pro Plus features a powerful 6000W motor, smart Flight Assistance telemetry (GPS and active stabilization sensors), and support for the larger 2300Wh battery.

What board volume do I need? +

Beginners and families usually benefit from the high-stability 130L Max Plus board. Lighter riders under 90kg and intermediate riders seeking agility will prefer the 90L board (Lite or Pro Plus). Pro and advanced wave riders will excel on the 75L Kevlar Master Plus board.

Technical FAQs & Specifications

How do I choose between the 27-inch and 31-inch masts?
The 27-inch (68cm) mast provides a lower flight altitude, making it extremely stable and easy to control—perfect for beginners and shallow water. The 31-inch (80cm) mast is designed for intermediate to advanced carving, swell riding, and high-frequency tight banking angles.
What is the benefit of a carbon mast vs an aluminum mast?
Aluminum masts are durable and offer outstanding value. Carbon masts are ultra-lightweight and provide maximum rigidity, zero-flex transmission, and immediate response.
Why is my optical communication failing, and how do I clean the sensor ports?
The Flyer EVO series utilizes optical communication sensors placed between the copper power ports to connect the board and motor. If water, sand, or salt debris blocks these ports, the controller will not connect. Clean the optical sensor ports gently with a dry cotton swab to keep the connection clear.
Can I use standard lubricants like WD-40 on the electrical power interfaces?
No! NEVER use WD-40 or other insulating sprays on the power interfaces. These substances leave an insulating film that causes poor electrical contact, increases resistance, and can lead to terminal overheating. Only use fresh water to rinse and alcohol cotton swabs to clean positive and negative terminals.
Why is my motor losing power or overheating, and how do I clean the ESC cooling cabin?
The electronic speed controller (ESC) is cooled by a dedicated water inlet and outlet cabin on the mast. After each session, rinse the ESC cooling cabin thoroughly with clean fresh water. If salt buildup, sand, or shellfish block these water passages, the motor will overheat, forcing the system to reduce throttle output to protect itself.
How do I replace a damaged propeller or clear entangled weeds from the motor shaft?
To clear entanglement or replace a damaged propeller, use a flat wrench to unscrew the nose cone (bullet) from the motor shaft, slide the propeller off, and replace the propeller pin if bent. When assembling the new propeller, ensure the groove direction aligns perfectly with the pin, slip the propeller on, and tighten the bullet securely.
